How Ranes fits together
The parts of Ranes, how work flows between them, and what connects to what.
Ranes connects four things: how your organization is structured, the work you plan, the work people do, and the records that show it was done. Everything you create is tied to a place (the job it belongs to), to related records (the planner a photo came from, the form that was required) and to a deadline.
How work flows through Ranes
1 Set up once Admin · Portal
decides who gets the work, and where it happens
2 Build Library · Portal
assigned to people, groups and jobs, once or on a schedule
3 Do the work My Work · app
every action leaves a record, linked to its job
4 Records Operations
reviewed by job, cost code, time category and label
5 Review Workspace and Reports · Portal
Administrators set things up and build work in the Portal. Team members do the work in the app. Every action leaves a record that administrators can review by job and report on.

The four areas of the Portal
The Portal's menu follows the same idea.
| Area | What's there | Think of it as |
|---|---|---|
| Admin | Users, Company settings, Billing and Reports | Who, where and how. Set up once. |
| Library | Forms, Planners, Documents and Training | Reusable work you build. |
| Workspace | Each job's overview, work, forms, planners, Log-Its, time, documents, training, messages and reports | Where the work happens. |
| Operations | Log-Its and Timeclocks | Records of what happened. |
A typical week
How the parts work together
- An administrator creates a job for a new site, adds the crew and the job's cost codes.
- They assign a weekly inspection planner and a daily start-of-shift form to the job.
- Each morning, team members see the work in My Work, complete the required check and tap in.
- During the day they work through planner tasks, add photos, and raise a Log-It about a damaged item.
- Supervisors approve time, follow up the Log-It and check progress on the job's overview.
- At month end, reports summarize hours, inspections and issues for the job.
